Tony Montenegro is an undercover Kennewick Police Officer and friend of Mercy Thompson. When the supernatural is suspected in the Tri-cities is often involved.

As a half-Italian, half-Venezuelan, Tony makes a very good Undercover cop. He can change his appearance almost as well as a fae could with glamor, and blend in with any group he chooses. The early novels say that he could even fool his own mother, but never Mercy, because of her nose.
